I've had this sitting on my counter for almost a week now, but never got around to just taking some pictures, so I decided today was the day. :D
I took a couple of step by step pictures for those that are interested in how I did it, but really it's pretty straight forward, and quite adorable if you ask me.
Okay, so the supplies I bought for this was a mini muffin tin (24 cup). I got a great deal on this, only $7 on sale!
And a package of Magnet sheets from Walmart, for $3. (You can find these over by the beads and craft stuff)
All other supplies were from my scrapbooking stash.
Okay, so start by cutting 24 even squares out of the magnet sheets. You will need exactly 24 squares for this project, so please be careful, you don't want to have to buy another package of magnet.
I used the Big Shot (new from Stampin' Up) and a circle stencil from Spellbinders Shapeabilities Dies. (I found mine at Hobby Lobby but I can tell you a couple websites I have found them at if you are interested)
Line your circle up on your square magnet and cut away.
Do that 24 times.
Choose your paper/color scheme for your advent calendar, then cut 24 circles of the same size. (the paper covers the white of the magnet)
I used Basic Grey papers from the Blush collection and a couple of KI memories papers.
Move your colored circles around until you are happy with the placement. I then took a picture, so I would remember exactly where I liked them best.
In case you are wondering, the embossed circles that have a "bumpy" texture was done with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and the Big Shot machine.
Then just start sticking your letter stickers on from 1-24.
So, you may be wondering, why did I have to use a muffin tin for this??
Well, you put little candies in the tin cups, so when you take down each day in December you get a little treat. The magnet circles holds the candy in securely so it won't tumble out.
Eventually mine will sit on my kitchen counter on a cook book stand. Like this,
Once Christmas is over, I will just keep the circles in a bag for next year, and I will have the use of the mini muffin pan. That's why I didn't attach a title or do anything "permanent" to my pan... cause I plan on using it. I know I'm not leaving you much time to do this, and I'm sorry, but if you really wanted to still give it a try, you could do a 12 days of Christmas countdown with a bigger muffin tin... that at least gives you some time to get the supplies and get creating.
Have fun!
Love it! What size circles did you use?
